For those of you who own an Antique or Classic Car, need an excuse to get one, or are interested in old cars, the ABDALLAH ANTIQUE & CLASSIC CAR UNIT is for you.

The Antique & Classic Car Unit was formed in 1975 by seven nobles, and now has approximately 40 members.  We combine Shrinedom with our ladies, our passion for our cars, and our pride in showing them off. 

Antique & Classic Cars can be seen at all Shrine sponsored parades at the beginning of each parade, transporting the Potentate and his Divan members.

According to our bylaws, membership in the Antique & Classic Cars can be any Noble, in good standing, of ABDALLAH SHRINE who has ownership or access to an Antique or Classic Car, or acquires one within twelve months of joining the unit. The by-laws define an Antique Car as vintage of 25 years or older, and a Classic Car as collectibles and/or “special interest” vehicles of non-current production types.  The dues are $10 per year.

Dress code for members consist of a parade uniform.  Black Pants, White Shirt, White satin Jacket and Abdallah Fez are traditionally worn for all parades.   The shirt, jacket and fez are embroidered with the unit name. 

The Unit meets the 1^st Wednesday of each month in the Playground Room at Abdallah Shrine.  Meetings begin at 7:00 pm.  Many members, with their ladies, arrive in time to enjoy “Abdallah Taco Night” prior to the meeting.    Dessert and fellowship is enjoyed after each monthly meeting. 

Abdallah functions are supported by many of our unit nobles and their ladies.  They can be seen at most shrine parades, working at the American Royal, the Shrine Rodeo, selling Vidalia Onions, assisting with Bingo and Taco Night, and attending the Potentates Ball, the Shrine East/West Football Game and Central States Shrine Association (CSSA).  They also have an annual holiday party as well as many other social events throughout the year.
